Dr. Pat Wimonsri, DMD
About Me
Dr. Pat Wimonsri was born and raised in Thailand. He earned his undergraduate degree in Medical Technology from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY, graduating as valedictorian. He began his career at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he worked as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and was later promoted to Senior Technologist. Inspired to pursue a more direct role in patient care, he transitioned to dentistry.
Dr. Wimonsri went on to graduate with honors from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, recognized in personalized care, radiology, and oral medicine. At Penn, he gained specialized experience treating patients with disabilities and special needs through care modifications rather than traditional surgery under general anesthesia. His work in the Radiology Honors Program provided him with advanced imaging knowledge beyond the standard DMD curriculum, while his involvement with the Oral Medicine faculty equipped him to diagnose and manage complex oral and systemic conditions.
For his excellence in the field, Dr. Wimonsri received the HANAU – Best of the Best Prosthodontics Award 2023 from Whip Mix Corporation, as well as the Anitha MD Award for Excellence in Compassionate Patient Care for his work with medically complex patients.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Wimonsri is passionate about cooking. He learned by watching his mother and grandmother prepare traditional Thai dishes like panang curry, papaya salad, and laab. Now living in the U.S., cooking helps him stay connected to his roots—and he loves sharing these meals with friends whenever he gets the chance.
